Contest Entry: Gojira by Deadpoolrus Contest Entry: Gojira by Deadpoolrus
An entry for :icontyrantisterror: [link]"literal Gojira" contest. Theirs no prize for competing, so like everyone else who entered I did this for shits and giggles.

The contest rules was to take the Gojira (which means gorilla whale, who knew) in a literal context and create a monster using only a combination of gorilla and whale. Since everyone was getting theirs out I figured I'd put everything else on hold and try my hand at doing this. My "Gojira" is a combination of Basilosaurus, Humpback Whale with just a hint of dolphin for intelligence sake and for the gorilla I actually looked at the Western Lowland Gorilla for body design, arms, legs, and stance. I was originally going to have mine with huge barnacles similar to RenDragonClaw's entry but after looking up what a barnacle truely is and what it does I decided to make them smaller, they're still huge mutated arthropods mind you.

As for the main creature, I'm not exactly sure on his ferocity but attack or corner any animal and I garuntee you they will retaliate so that's this thing in a nutshell, quite, kind of shy towards the unknown but will defend his himself like a pitbull with rabies if you get in his way. One last thing, this is a creature that spends most of his time in the water, so like Clover (which I'm betting all my money on!!!) is stricted to destroying cities at night with only limited amounts of time in the daylight, due to him having little UV (ultraviolet) light protection (though I'm also betting that it would take almost the entire day for him to actually be affected by this due to his enormous size).

Amazing! :D I think this is the best one of the lot-he looks terrific. You blended the two whales and the gorilla into a beast that looks both frightning and capable of moving equally well on land or in water. The barnacles add even more to him. Awesome job!

Hot damn if that isn't one incredibly well rendered blubber laden primate. That's probably the best whale based Gojira we got out of this contest. The little barnacles are freaking awesome. Research really improves a concept immensely.

Ooo, nice! Integrating the basilosaurus into the humpback whale was an inspired touch - it makes him look more whale-ish while still having that gnarly basilosaurus look to it. I also really like the variety of looks you gave your barnacles - it really gives him a very different texture from the other Gojiras. Smashing job!
