“For Order unchecked leads to entropy”
Chaos, it is the vast and darkness of the void, the astonishing beauty of a planets creation, the simple observation of a clashing personality. Simply put, chaos is orders counterbalance, the randomness and unpredictability that must ensue to maintain life is not stagnated with inevitability. For this emerged Herakhos of Chaos, creator and instigator of calamity within the Cosmos.
Herakhos (like Kybaleon) was the first of the gods to exist and the first to emerge from the womb from which everything was and will be created. Through this, Herakhos function set in and just as Kybaleon instilled order throughout the cosmos, Herakhos lavished instability which he found did not take much to accomplish. Opposites in every way, Kybaleon and Herakhos were set in an endless stalemate and the two shared an animosity like no other. It must have came as a shock then to even Herakhos’ crazed eye when he was the first of the god’s that Kybaleon came to for assistance in his insidious plan.
Shocked by such an agenda, it seemed that Kybaleon had indeed gone mad from his own function. But Kybaleon did not wish to make Herakhos into an ally, actually far from it. Kybaleon only desired to see that Herakhos was not going to disrupt his plans (as usual) and the easiest way to accomplish this was to gain him to his side. Herakhos, though able to see through Kybaleon’s ‘persuasions,’ accepted the order god’s offer if only to find some sick thrill from the insanity that would ensue during its course. And once Kybaleon was close to achieving his goal, he would snatch it away from him as he had always done. For order must never be allowed to escape chaos’s clutches.
With chaos and others quickly coming to his side, Kybaleon set forth to destroy this Universe to begin his own. Herakhos, exuberated by the thought of cutting loose, set forth to the planet Alpha Cin to destroy it. Not a few moments later, Unrialdo appeared on the planet as well, seemingly drawn to the commotion. Though slightly irritated that his ‘fun’ had been interrupted so quickly, this was indeed Herakhos’s true intention as he had been given the agenda to take out the time deity and without a moments notice, Herakhos met his brother in immortal combat.
Chaos and time collided into a stream of pandemonium with Alpha Cin’s own gravity and climate becoming distorted as a result of the battle. Unrialdo unfortunately found himself overwhelmed by Herakhos’s unpredictable battle style and would have surely been defeated if not for the intervention of the newly created Xinlagain who (with assistance from Unrialdo) was able to pummel Herakhos into submission.
After his defeat, Herakhos’ function like his brother Kybaleon was relinquished and given to the monitor god Lyven, to see that both chaos and order are never unbalanced.
Note: It is widely believed by those who know the tale of the fallen that Destrophus and Herakhos were once a singular being until separating into the creatures they are today. Though their is some truth to this as chaos undoubtedly leads to destruction, Herakhos and Destrophus are two entirely different beings with two different intentions and purposes.
- Powerful stinger capable of delivering a potent amount of toxin designed to drive victims insane rather than kill
- Tail can be used as a devastating bludgeoning tool
- Powerful pincers for crushing and rendering foes
- Highly unpredictable causing many of his movements and actions to be viewed as crazed
- Armored exoskeleton invulnerable to all forms of conventional weaponry
- Body constantly produces a powerful pheromone that causes lesser being to go into destructive and chaotic primitive rampages.
- Can control and manipulate the minds of lesser beings
While I have to admit that Cretaphus is my favorite of the active 7 gods, Herakhos is hands down my favorite among the fallen. Just what in God's name is it thinking?
